Robert Wilson is Head of Innovation, Portfolio Strategist at PICTON Investments and 2ND ENGINE. He leads the portfolio construction team within the 2ND ENGINE division, where he oversees the development of advisor-facing tools, insights, and risk-based portfolio strategies that support goal-based wealth management.
As a key driver of 2ND ENGINE’s innovation efforts, Robert brings together technology, research, and consulting to help advisors build more resilient, efficient portfolios. His work empowers advisors with the data needed to structure investment solutions.
Robert joined the firm in 2019, bringing over a decade of experience in progressively senior roles across the Canadian investment industry. Prior to joining, he was Vice President at BlackRock Asset Management Canada Limited, focused on distributing ETF portfolio solutions, and earlier served as a Sales Associate at PIMCO, specializing in fixed income distribution.
A frequent speaker on portfolio construction and alternative investments, Robert is known for his ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable strategies. He holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, is a CFA charterholder, and holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
