Pascal Bernier

Portfolio Manager, Strategic Asset Allocation

As a Portfolio Manager, Pascal Bernier provides support to his colleagues for strategic asset allocation of various classes, while taking part in related activities, such as development of investment strategies and selection of management mandates. In this role, Pascal contributes his extensive management experience for the benefit of all DGAM’s institutional clients, whether internal or external.

With more than 15 years of experience as an actuary and investment specialist, Pascal has acquired solid expertise in investment management, carrying out mandates for various types of institutional clients, including pension funds, insurance companies, foundations and religious orders. He has successively held positions of increasing responsibility at companies such as Mercer, Normandin Beaudry and Standard Life, later acquired by Manulife. Before joining DGAM, he was Senior Director, Investment, at Optimum Asset Management.

Pascal holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from the Université de Montréal. He is a CFA charterholder and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).

Pascal has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association de la Retraite et des Avantages Sociaux du Québec (ARASQ) since 2019.
